Abstract art Los Angeles
It has been my pleasure to work with the Award Winning Artist Clara Berta for the past 4 years. Clara recently sold more works of art that are being shipped to the East Coast, as abstract art continues to gain in popularity the number of inquiries and bids for interior design jobs is on the rise.
Clara Berta also teaches a healing arts workshop with focus on abstract mixed media. The feeling of the work and the choice of colors and techniques make for some impressive results.
Here is an example of a work from Clara's "Flow" series.

What is abstract art?
Here is the dictionary definition:
ab·stract art
noun
- art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures.
Notice the word "effect" in the above definition, this is the key as we are trying to communicate via the work or expression. Abstract artists feel the same way about their works as a landscape painter might feel about a recent photo realistic work they just created. As an example, when Clara talks about her process and result, it is with the same passion as an artist who is proud of a detailed portrait they just created.
To better understand the idea that abstract art has the same value as realism or other mediums, we look at Pollock who through experimental workshops and the study of various cultures artwork that was achieved using a "drip method" and begin to realize that both forms of art are deliberate. When an artist throws paint at a canvas and hopes for the best, that may be a style but it is not the norm for abstract artists. Clara Berta layers her works and uses various tools to achieve depth and texture. The use of color is inspired rather than pre-determined, both have equal value and both have a specific effect on the viewing audience.
A work or art that provokes joy or sadness or any feelings at all has done it's job in the same way a film or song might bring out feelings in an audience, as we continue to sell works by Clara Berta, it is obvious that the public is hungry for more expression and color, that is the current trend and we are here to fill the need.
For more information about abstract mixed media art, contact Clara Berta who is an expert in this field.

The Arts
The arts are alive and well and millions of travelers are now visiting art galleries in New York, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Laguna Beach and more. While online sales for general goods has exceeded brick and mortar business, the art industry is quite different in that you really need to see a work of art in person to appreciate it. Art can be altered when uploaded to a site or blog, so seeing the art in person is important. If you have questions about art of any kind, I am a long time art consultant who has sold works by Salvador Dali, Picasso, Chagall, Miro, Warhol and many others including current popular living artists. This is the smartwatch that President Barack Obama wears
FitBit
Obama has been updating his Fitbit as new models are released
President Barack Obama seems to like his smartwatch.
This past March, the commander in chief was spotted wearing a Fitbit Surge, a $250 GPS-enabled wearable that tracks steps, heart rate, calories burned, and more. It also lets users see notifications and control music from their smartphone.
Then, this week, Obama was a guest on Jerry Seinfeld’s online show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Near the end of the video, you can see the Fitbit on Obama’s left wrist as he drives a 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe with Seinfeld.
In February, Obama told Recode that he wanted to start wearing a device while working out and said he was interested in the Apple Watch. But, it looks like he ultimately went with Fitbit. As DailyDot notes, the president isn’t allowed to have a smartphone that has a recording device, so that may be one reason why he went with Fitbit over a Apple or Samsung product.
On a related note, Phactual reported that Obama’s Secret Service team likely disabled the GPS functionality in his Fitbit for obvious reasons.
Fitbit’s stock spiked 100 percent to $51 a share just two months after the company’s IPO this past June, but is now trading at $30 a share.

Much like Dali and Picasso, Fabian Perez is enjoying success with limited edition art
"Untitled II"
by
Fabian Perez
This is an iconic work of art that has made an impact on
the art world. Much like Salvador Dali Fabian Perez is enjoying
attention from the Media and his shows are drawing large crowds.
The artist is so well liked, he recently painted a portrait of Pope Francis
and presented it to the Pope in person.
Fabian Perez with Pope Francis
Fabian Perez captures audiences with his impressive European style
of work that includes dark bacgrounds contrasting with images
of Argentina night life.
Much in the way it happened for Salvador Dali, Picasso, Chagal, Miro and Warhol,
Fabian Perez commands high prices for his original paintings and now his limited edition
works are selling out and artists proofs and original are commanding higher prices.

Artist from Argentina Fabian Perez at The Village Gallery in Irvine
The well known and well respected artist who recently presented an original painting to The Pope, was the special guest at an artist showing in Irvine California at The Village Gallery.
Fabian Perez dedicates a work of art to a collector as his wife looks on.
It was a packed house at The Village Gallery.
The gallery provided snacks, music and wine for guests,
and the artist talked about what inspires his works and gave
collectors more insight as to the meaning of the art.
After dedicating a work to this new client, Perez stopped to take a few photos
for the clients wife who was waiting at home for the new work to arrive.
Some of the last of the Extra Large canvases as the one behind the
front desk of the gallery, sold at the show and received special dedications
to the clients. The client in this case also received a free $350.00 value book
with a bonus print inside. Perez hand signed and dedicated the book as well.
This new collector purchased a hand signed limited edition work
for his soon to be wife. The artist added a special dedication in Spanish
on the back of the art at the clients request.

Laguna Beach Art Galleries
There are many art galleries in Laguna Beach. This beach city is usually busy from the time school ends until school resumes.
With the Covid lock down there have been a number of closures of galleries in and around the beach areas. Laguna Beach hotels are only allowing a 40% to 45% occupancy, that of course hurts the gallery industry. With things changing and vaccines being administered, we should see galleries opening up and allowing more walk through traffic, if all goes as planned the galleries will be full again by mid summer.
UPDATE: 8/21/22 Laguna Beach Traffic has picked up, we are seeing more out of town visitors and most galleries are now open full schedule. If you are a fan of Pop Art, stop by 572 S. Coast Hwy in Laguna Beach to view works by Pop Artists and other artists as well. Andy Warhol, Mr. Brainwash, KAWS, Rosenquist, Keith Haring, Salvador Dali, Picasso and more!

"Toothpick"
by
Rob Kaz
A self-trained artist, Rob Kaz grew up in New Jersey where he enjoyed surfing, skating and hockey. After many cold and snowy winters, Rob sought warmer weather when deciding on a college and wound up in Orlando where he earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida (go Knights!).
After his post-graduation hopes of working for the government in criminal justice came to a halt with a hiring freeze, fate stepped in and Rob began working for a number of small animation studios in the Central Florida area.
Rob Kaz will be at the Irvine Spectrum Village Gallery on May 29th at 7PM

Picasso Painting sets new record at auction
Picasso art sets new record at Christies auction house.
The bidder who won the piece has not been identified, it could
turn out to be Steve Wynn from Las Vegas who has purchased Picasso
works in the past, we all remember the "elbow incident" where a high
end Picasso was damaged, repaired and then sold for a nice profit.
When you can purchase a Picasso, damage it, sell it and then have enough
to build a hotel on the Vegas strip, you must be doing something right.
